Alia Mohamed is an acclaimed belly dancer located in Dallas, TX. Growing up, Alia was exposed to the sounds of traditional middle eastern music, along with various other types of world music, due to the influence of her father, a well-known and respected Lebanese musician. Her love for Arabic music and her interest in middle eastern dance began at an early age.
In 2000, Alia began intensively studying middle eastern dance and became particularly intrigued by the belly dancers of Egypt in the 1950s, the "Golden Era of Belly Dance." Today, Alia channels this classic style of belly dance, characterized by improvisation and simplicity, in her performances.
Alia's deep appreciation and understanding of middle eastern music, along with her passion for the dance, is truly shown in her performances.
Alia has performed at various events including theatrical shows, festivals, weddings, and parties throughout the country. She is a house dancer at Al Amir Lebanese Restaurant in Addison and Cairo Hookah Lounge in Richardson.
